Insight to Implementation (i2i) — HIV Prevention
Strengthening the use of evidence in HIV prevention decision-making across 15 countries, translating research into practical guidance for policy, programme design, and advocacy.
Across sub-Saharan Africa, progress toward ending HIV by 2030 remains uneven, largely due to persistent gaps between available evidence and the delivery of targeted, effective prevention programmes — leaving populations at highest risk not consistently reached with appropriate interventions.
Population Council Kenya is implementing the Insight to Implementation (i2i) initiative, supporting 15 countries to strengthen the use of evidence in HIV prevention decision-making. The initiative synthesizes existing research, identifies priority implementation gaps, and works with national stakeholders to translate evidence into practical guidance for policy, programme design, and advocacy.
Synthesize existing HIV prevention research and identify priority implementation gaps. Work with national stakeholders to translate evidence into guidance for policy, programme design, and advocacy. Support the design of differentiated, tailored prevention approaches over one-size-fits-all models.
Our approach
i2i works directly with national stakeholders in each country to turn synthesized evidence into practical guidance — including contributions to Uganda's Adolescent Boys and Men HIV Prevention Package and an interactive MSM stigma-assessment tool translated into Swahili.
